## Export Volume and Value

 

According to China Customs, China exported 36.94 thousand tons of tea in 2021, with a total value of 22.99 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.9% and 12.8% respectively compared to 2020. Among them, green tea accounted for 84.1% of the export volume and 64.8% of the export value, making it the dominant tea category in China's tea export market.

 

Gunpowder tea such as China Gunpowder Tea 3505 , as a representative of green tea, also maintained a steady growth in export volume and value in the past five years. According to the data from China Agricultural International Cooperation Promotion Association Tea Industry Committee (CAICPTIC), gunpowder tea exported 14.6 thousand tons in 2021, with a value of 4.2 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.6% and 11.7% respectively compared to 2020. The average export price was 2.88 US dollars per kilogram, slightly higher than the average price of green tea (2.77 US dollars per kilogram).

## Export Destinations and Trends

 

China Gunpowder Tea 3505  is mainly exported to Africa, Europe and Asia, with Morocco being the largest importer. According to CAICPTIC, Morocco imported about 10 thousand tons of gunpowder tea in 2021, accounting for more than two-thirds of China's gunpowder tea export volume. Other major importers include Algeria, France, Indonesia and Russia.
